chair

Take a load off.

When it comes to choosing a chair for someone else, I have no problems. EVER. I can tell you exactly what will look great and what I would buy with your money.  However, choosing one for myself is so very different!  I am trying to choose a new chair for our newly finished office sitting area, but struggling with the choice. If I had an endless budget, I'd choose this:

It's from Horchow and at a cool $2200 it's completely out of my budget.  BUT, it's perfect and if I had it, I would probably sleep in it every night and drag it with me everywhere I went just so I could sit in it when I was tired.

Like most people, I'm on a budget. I've earmarked $300 for this chair.  If I can spend less than that for a comfortable, stylish chair that fits the space - GAME ON.  If not, then I don't want to spend more than $300.  So, I've put together a few choices.  I've even photoshopped them into the space so you can see exactly how they look. This is how I help my better half "visualize" how things will look and feel once they are here.  He's a guy - typically guys cannot visualize. Ever.

Here we go - Option #1.   A blue Ikat patterned chair. I like the color pop. I think it's pretty in the space and I like the pattern agains the rug. This is one of my favorites because of the color.

Option #2:  A simple club chair with tufting. The tufting adds something for me. And I like the closeup of the pattern on the fabric.  I also think this will hide the dirt from the dirty people who will sit in this and not on my white sofa.

Option #3:  A wood framed gray chair. This one has caught my eye forever now - I love the clean styling of it.   I am loving the wood framing to break up the space, but I'm wondering if it might be too dark.

Option #4:  Leather and waaaaay out of my price range. But It looks like butter and so I kind of love it.  I would have to make extra favors for the Mr. to buy this one.

A vintage-ish Option #5.  Gray and weathered.  My only issue with this one is the wood coloring. I want it to be darker or lighter - not this in the middle tone.  Also a little over my budget.

Option #6:  A cute little cream chair. Simple, plain and the lines are adorable.

Last Choice:  Option #7:  A bit of natural materials here. I like the idea of the natural materials and I would have to upgrade that cushion to something "sinkier" and cozy.  But overall, this one has me loving the barrel shape and the natural element to an otherwise white room.

I'd love your thoughts!!  Leave a comment below with the one you like the best. I'm on a mission to order this chair soon!  Happy Shopping!
