Starting today, I'm launching a new series called Monday Motivators. Recovery from the weekend is hard - I mean - sometimes, it's SO DIFFICULT TO MOVE. In the spirit of "monday's suck", what better way to recover than to browse some beautiful rooms, cool ideas, fun DIY projects on a Monday. Why on a MONDAY? Because then you have the entire week to plan for the weekend warrior I know you're dying to become.
Inspiration on a Monday - when you likely have a case of the Mondays - and by Friday, your fire is lit, the supplies are purchased and you've dropped the bomb on your spouse that their weekend is now dedicated to your beautiful ideas and projects. Each week, a new topic! Today, I'm talking about Dining Rooms. Because dining rooms are AWESOME. Most of the time, our dining rooms are just there for show - I mean, how many of you actually use your dining room to EAT every day? I know I don't - in fact, I got rid of that particular room altogether because it was dusty all the time and I hated looking at a room I never used. It now houses some beautiful and comfortable chairs that I sit and drink my coffee in every morning. Win! But, most of you aren't like me and want to have that room for the 3 times a year when your entire extended family descends on the house and you need that space. Totally get that!
Whether your style is dark and traditional or cottage chic or super modern, dining rooms are some awesome spaces to play with style. Because they're not used every single day, it's fun to try wall treatments in this room that might not hold up in a heavily used space. Or a floor covering that you'd love in your kitchen, but because your dogs race around your island, you'd better not. Think creative when it comes to a dining space. And my favorite - think COZY. When you're sitting down to break bread with your people, a warm, inviting and cozy space is just the ticket to great conversation and a night that no one wants to end.
